Achata is one of the nicest beaches on Karpathos. There is even a tavern opened during the high season. You
can therefore join climbing with leisure. Achata is also one of the first developed climbing areas on the island. Routes were equipped in 2010, so pay attention to the quality of protection. Several beautiful routes were added in 2019. Bayern Block sector is easily accessible and there are several nice lines. Other sectors offer rather short climbing from the lower range of difficulties. The most distant sector Boat or Goat is offer for those who want to climb directly over the water surface.
Belaying is possible either from boat or from upper belay stances. For sport climbing, there is only one equipped route. Others have stances for top-roping.

Coming from Pigadia, just before the village of Aperi at the roads fork turn right (signs for Spoa Olimpos) and continue as far as the football stadium. Before the stadium at the junction, turn right (signs to Achata Beach).
